Our Story

Honoring a Life, Supporting a Community

The Make Your Mark Story

Make Your Mark was founded by Ryann Hart, a compassionate individual who has always been driven by a desire to help others and make a positive impact in the world. Ryann’s passion for community service was fostered throughout her youth and led her to spend many years volunteering with local non-profit organizations. Her dedication culminated in her service as an AmeriCorps member with City Year, an education-focused non-profit that provides critical support to students in under-resourced communities. During her time at City Year, Ryann realized her true calling and received the inspiration and encouragement she needed to launch her own non-profit one day.

Compassion in Action

The Creation of Make Your Mark

Like many individuals, Ryann has been deeply affected by the devastating impact of suicide on families and communities. In June 2017, a close friend experienced the loss of a second family member to suicide within the span of just five years. In the wake of this tragedy, Ryann felt compelled to take action in honor of the family member who had passed away. The pain and devastation caused by this loss were too great to ignore, and Ryann knew that she had to do something to help. Thus, Make Your Mark Foundation was established in 2021 as a tribute to the memory of our beloved friend, son, and brother, Mark Frongello, who tragically died by suicide in June of 2017.
